Looking at the price movements of goods and services consumed at home, last month’s consumer price index rose by 0.7% compared to the same month in the previous year. However, the range of the increase is smaller than the previous month due to a drop in gasoline price.

According to the Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts, and Telecommunications, the consumer price index -excluding fresh food- last month was at 101.4 and it registered a positive amount for 24 consecutive months, mainly due to the rise in electricity prices, gas charges and favorable conditions of overseas traveling.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said, “There is a possibility that the decline in crude oil prices will also be reflected in electricity and gas charges in the future, so we need to keep an eye on whether price trends will change.”
