In response to Softbank’s large-scale communication failure last month, it was revealed that Minister Ishida asked NTT Docomo and KDDI for emergency checks at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting on 25th, in order to prevent damages.
Under this situation, Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, Ishida said, “Softbank’s relapse prevention is extremely important, at the same time, we requested information sharing across the industry, and requested other mobile phone operators for emergency inspection”.
In addition, Minister Ishida stated that “I will review the necessary standards and strive to secure an environment where our citizens can use -their phones- with a peace of mind” and based on the inspection results of each company, measures to prevent communication failure of mobile phones have been taken into consideration with utmost relevancy.
In response to SOFTBANK’s communications troubles, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications issued administrative guidance on a document due Jan. 23rd.
